Our mission

Lumina Historia exists to put a spotlight on Swedish history, especially forgotten events or individuals. We are firm believers in the concept “dig where you stand” and love sharing stories of local history, folklore and everything in between.

Why a blog about history?

Even though social media is a powerful thing, most networks put a heavy emphasis on images, videos and short posts. On a blog, we are free to indulge in all sorts of topics, even long form posts or themes. This allows us to share our passion and knowledge for Swedish history to a wide audience – and even connect with other history-nerds!

The Lumina Historia team

The blog is written, edited and managed by a two-person team based in Sweden, both bilingual writers and speakers. We have different academic backgrounds in the humanities; one archaeologist and one art historian. Between us, we share a common drive to inspire and educate others on local history and the importance of knowing where we come from to be able to move towards a brighter future.
